The plant will be able to process 30,000 tons of garbage every year

In Zakarpattia, the construction of a waste sorting plant in the village of Yanoshi is 75% complete, but the pace of work is somewhat delayed due to weather conditions.

After all, landscaping, construction of internal roads, and installation of a protective film for waste must be carried out in accordance with technical requirements, Zakarpattia Regional Council deputy Volodymyr Chubirko wrote on Facebook.

He said that the plant has already been arranged:

  • place for composting;
  • waste storage room;
  • disinfection pit;
  • tank for contaminated water;
  • artesian well for water supply;
  • laying of pipelines for various water mains.

Chubirko emphasized that the enterprise will be able to process 30,000 tons of garbage every year and will serve 27 communities in Beregivu Oblast.

"The expert commission controls the development of funds and has no complaints about their use. This is very important, so that in the future we have the trust of European partners and can apply for the following projects in other areas," he said.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in April in Transcarpathia, in the village of Yanoshi, preparatory work on the construction of a waste sorting plant began.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the government of Hungary provided the Zakarpattia Regional Council with about $2.45 million for the construction of the first waste sorting plant in the region in the village of Yanoshi, Beregivu district.
