In Transcarpathia, eco-activists from the "Save Pikuy" community launched a charity fundraiser for photo traps to record the entry of motorcyclists into the "Pikuy" botanical reserve.
Motorcyclists are trying to get to Mount Pikuy in the Lviv region from the Transcarpathian side, reports "Save Pikuy" on Facebook.
Eco-activists said that motocross, enduro, buggies, ATVs and even jeeps systematically pass through the reserve.
The authors emphasized that they turned to the management of the Carpathian Forestry Office of the state-owned enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" and the Svalyavsky Forest Farm regarding the organization of forest protection. However, officials have not given an answer for more than a month.
"We will seek protection. Having photo fixation, it will be easier for us to convince about the need for forest protection", eco-activists emphasized in the discussion of the post.
They noted that thanks to the photo trap, it will be possible to report violations to the police, the State Environmental Inspection and foresters. This will make it possible to hold violators accountable for environmental damage.
Eco-activists said that the total cost of a camera trap that can transmit data to a phone reaches UAH 10,200. You can support the collection by calling the account 4246 0010 0405 3017, or using the details: "PRIVATBANK" No.UA203052990000026002035024342, EDRPOU:45027394.
Social network users supported the initiative.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Transcarpathia, criminal proceedings were opened for violation of water protection rules against the organizers of the Hard Enduro Wild Trails charity race near the village of Velikiy Bychkiv.
