People also do not want to improve the energy efficiency of buildings

A sociological study showed that more than 40% of Ukrainians are not at all ready to pay 1.5-2 times more for more ecological communal services, electric public transport and access to high-quality drinking water.

Only a fifth of those surveyed said they were ready to pay at the proposed prices, reports the resource-analytical center "Society and Environment" on Facebook.

It is noted that the survey "War and the environment. Study of values and practices of environmental protection in the conditions of war and post-war recovery" was conducted by "Society and Environment" experts. They surveyed 2,000 residents of Ukraine over the age of 18.

The study showed that Ukrainians do not want to participate in government programs to improve the energy efficiency of buildings if it involves an increase in rent. And 54% are not ready to participate in such programs at all.

A sociological survey showed that paying 1.5-2 times more for:

  • supply of high-quality drinking water: ready – 24.1%, not ready – 42.3%, ready, but not now – 26.4%;
  • "green" electricity: ready – 17%, not ready – 45.8%, ready, but not now – 29.5%;
  • ecological disposal of household waste: ready – 24%, not ready – 39.9%, ready, but not now – 28.9%;
  • water drainage (sewage) through modern treatment facilities: ready – 27.6%, not ready – 44.1%, ready, but not now – 19.8%;
  • public electric or hydrogen transport: ready – 17.5%, not ready – 46.6%, ready, but not now – 27.9%.

Earlier, EcoPoliti cwrote, that a sociological survey showed that 91.1% of Ukrainians consider climate change a big problem, or rather a big one.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the online platform "Encyclopedia EcoSolutions" was launched in Ukraine, which will help to understand complex and simple issues related to the environment.
