There is no water supply in Ozeryany and people used water from wells

In the Kharkiv Region, in the villages of Verkhnya and Nizhnya Ozeryana, near the city of Merefa, the water in households has become yellow and sticky, its surface is covered with an oily film, and the water itself has acquired an unpleasant smell.

The water has changed both in the wells and in the lake, which is probably related to the activities of  Ukrgazvydobutok, reports the Facebook community Novyny Ozeryan.

The authors said that there is no water supply in Ozeryany and people used water from wells.

"In 2021, despite people's protests, appeals to various authorities, in particular to the city council, Ukrgazvydobutok PRJSC still started drilling a gas well on the territory of the community near the houses of residents. It is known that the gas well crosses 6 water horizons, and at the same time, the geological structure here is complex, there may be faults, which can lead to "trouble" with the water," the report says.

The authors assumed that the water pollution is related to the fact that the gas workers violated the water protection zone during the construction of the access road to the gas well.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Kryvyi Rih, ecoactivists discovered that only 3 out of 12 alternative water sources in the city are conditionally suitable for sanitary and household needs.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, Oskilske in Kharkiv region the reservoir was on the verge of an environmental disaster due to Russian aggression.
