Such performances form a consumerist attitude towards animals in children

In the Lviv region, animal rights activists filed a complaint with the police at the "Apollon" circus tent regarding animal cruelty.

Artists use wild animals during the show, namely a python and a crocodile, according to the charity organization URSA on Facebook.

A resident of the city of Truskavets told animal rights activists about the violation. The URSA team checked the appeal and found a circus poster on one of the local online resources, which confirmed that the python and crocodile were indeed part of their program.

"This violates the Law on the Protection of Animals from Cruelty, causes incredible harm to the animals themselves, and, most frighteningly, forms a consumerist attitude towards animals in children," the report emphasized.

Animal rights activists said that the lawyers of their organization immediately wrote a statement about the fact of cruelty to wild animals to the National Police Office in the Lviv region. They are currently awaiting a response from the police.

"We are categorically against the use of animals in circuses and will fight it with all available resources," they emphasized.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that animal rights activists called on the deputies to put draft law No. 5409 to a vote in the passage part so that ban circuses with animals in Ukraine.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the Kantar Ukraine survey showed that 57% of Ukrainians support the idea of banning circuses with animals.
