The plan for spring provided for 4.8 million seedlings

In Khmelnytsky, Bukovyna, and Ternopil regions, the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" planted about 5.8 million seedlings, covering an area of almost a thousand hectares. Of these, 55.2 hectares are new forests.

"The number of planted seedlings directly depends on the weather and climate situation in the region. Under favorable conditions, spring planting of forests has already been completed in almost all branches of Khmelnytskyi, Bukovyna, and Ternopil Regions of SE "Forests of Ukraine". as well as in the area of Maly Polissya, where some areas are flooded," the Podil Forestry Office reports.

  • In Khmelnytskyi region – 2.4 million;
  • In Ternopil Oblast – almost 1.6 million;
  • In Bukovina – about 1.7 million.

Trees perform the function of natural filters, absorb carbon dioxide and rid the atmosphere of pollution. Thanks to this, the level of harmful emissions is reduced, and air quality is significantly improved," – the forest department emphasizes office

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the forestry campaign of 2024 is underway in Ukraine. Foresters have already restored 9.7 thousand hectares and created more than 1.2 thousand hectares of new forests.
