Representatives of forest protection also inspected the surrounding areas

In Volyn and Rivne regions, 302 illegal dumps were found in forests and adjacent areas during the inspection. The approximate area of the littered land is 310 hectares.

This was reported by the Polissia Forestry Office.

In Volyn, 168 landfills were recorded, and in Rivne region, a little less – 134 contaminated locations.

The Polissia Forestry Office noted a positive trend: the forest guard, together with active representatives of local communities, eliminate illegal dumps as quickly as possible. They are cleaned not only in the forest itself, but also in the areas bordering the state forest fund.

Forest protection representatives also updated the locations of photo traps. They help to record offenses and demonstrate good performance. This year, they have already detected and documented 56 cases of forest littering.

The Polissky Forestry Office notes that the problem will not be unequivocally eliminated with such measures alone.

"Comprehensive measures and a common desire to live cleanly are needed. First of all, the wishes of the residents of the communities themselves," office representatives are sure.

In April, EcoPolitic reported that volunteers of the UAnimals organization gathered for the Spring Cleanup March and cleaned the national natural parks of Ukraine of garbage.
